Providing a safe file access and storage for students and faculty on a common platform is a pretty critical component of productivity and collaboration on campus. It's a concept we're now co-marketing with Xythos in Australia with the idea of Digital Lockers. With over 1 million users and growing in education, we're scheduling work now to bring Xythos in to the Sun scalability lab to see just how many users we can support at simultaneously; somewhere between 100,000 and 1 1 million is the goal! We should have nice packaged configurations for small, medium and large organizational models by the fall just as the school year is kicking into gear. Xythos is also the content engine behind Blackboard's Content System so we should see some benefit for institutions using that system too. Now, to go meet with Adobe to see about running their stuff on our AMD-based workstations to bring Sun Workstations back onto student and faculty desktops again to support the digital hollywood generation to create great things to share.
