Microsoft afraid of OpenOffice

Nice video from Microsoft Marketing.

It looks like they are seriously loosing market Share with MS Office, and not seeing the Market adopting they latest release as they expected. People start thinking twice before "renewing their MS OFFICE contracts", asking themselves "is MS Office" the only and unique option I have on the market, to provide an Office Suite to my company ?

Let's review some of the messages ...

Just trying to confuse that OpenOffice runs only on Linux :)

Just trying to confuse that 30% of the IT to support OpenSource (and not OpenOffice) and additionnal 25% of time was routinely used to install and maintain Opensource-based systems

Where is OpenOffice? we are speaking about systems here !

May be MS is not aware that there is an Enterprise level support for OpenSource systems . By the way, how much does it cost to have an internal and fully certified MS Certified experts team per year to be able to support MS Excel Macros ?

What is this IT support team doing 100% of it time when not dealing with OpenSource ?

Just trying to confuse that the licence costs are nothing compared to the "internal support costs". Notice what is in light blue color. And what is in white color.

Funny to read this too. How much do you pay for MS Office ?

Just trying to confuse that 100% of OpenOffice users use daily macros :) This is the added value of MS Office 2007. Right ?

Trying to convince that the whole operations of a chemical/pharmaceutical company is running on an EXCEL Macro based ERP.

And we agree on that too. Everybody knows that :)

This is maybe WHY MS OFFICE is SO EXPENSIVE.

OK, enough fun. My understanding of this nice video is that more and more people are discovering OpenOffice.org, and MS start to understand that :)

Comments:

Poor Microsoft, to resort to FUD techniques like that, they must be terrorized of Open Office!
