More PHP Extensions
By jyri on Nov 10, 2007
When PHP5 was initially delivered into OpenSolaris it was missing a number of built-in extensions that were not being compiled (mainly because they were not specified in the original ARC case. After discussing these additional php extensions a new ARC case was filed and the code changes have now been integrated. As usual, there will be delays while the code winds its way through consolidations before finally showing up some day when build 78 becomes available. But it's in!
There is definitely more work remaining on the PHP front. There's at least one more extension (xdebug) still stuck in license reviews which will show up later. Out of box support for Apache 2.2.6 will show up after Apache 2.2.6 itself integrates and same goes for the MySQL support. Other details are also in the pipeline. Join us in the OpenSolaris Web Stack project if you're interested in participating in the details...
