GlassFish promotion in Beijing, China

In May 2008 after JavaOne Satya and Mimi helped me connected with Sun globalization team in Beijing China to get the team help to promote GlassFish Quality Community in China.  China is the country I came from and I was so happy that I could connect to China through my work.   Not for too long, we about 10 people from Beijing and in US formed a virtual glassfish-china team.

In this blog, I would like to post the first Sun Tech User Group event  held on 10/8. Our virtual glassfish-china team members Jim Jian, Ada Li, Yu Wang, Carol Zhang participated in this event.  It is a great event and I wished I could be there :-)

Here is the email report from Ada Li:

We launched our first Sun Tech User Group event yesterday.  There are 23 engineers who have interests in GlassFish attending the meeting.

Below is the the agenda.

18:45pm - 19:00pm Registration
19:00pm - 19:20pm Glassfish v3 new features by Jim Jiang
19:20pm - 19:40pm Glassfish Cluster by Yu Wang
19:40pm - 20:45pm unconference discussion

STUG (Sun Tech User Group), the name came from brainstorm of this event's owners, Jim Jiang, Carol Zhang, Rebecca Liu and Ada Li.
We plan to organize this kind of event regularly, and each event may focus on one type of tech topic, such as STUG: GlassFish, STUG: JavaFX, STUG: MySQL etc

We tried to find a win-win cooperation method among teams through the event. The owners and speakers are volunteers, and all the teams can benefit from the cooperation.
ISVE team (Yu Wang, Carol Zhang):  Got the presentation number and opportunities for GlassFish adoption
AGC team (Jim Jiang, Rebecca Liu):  Got the community number and the face to face feedback from customers
SDN China (Ada Li): Meet promoting Sun's technology goal

Thanks again to all of you, I am looking forward to the next cooperation.
