RESTful Web Services from Database function in NB 6.5 M1

Those of you who have used NetBeans to create RESTful web services from database tables know the procedure:
  1. In your web application, go through the New > Entity Classes from Database wizard.
  2. After the IDE has created entity classes, go through the New > Web Services > RESTful Web Services from Entity Classes wizard.

NetBeans IDE 6.5 combines both procedures in a single wizard. Under New > Web Services, there is a RESTful Web Services from Database action. This action launches a wizard that combines the Entity Classes from Database and RESTful Web Services from Entity Classes wizards. So in a single procedure, you create the entity classes and the web services based on those classes.

Try it out! Install a development build of NetBeans IDE and go through the Getting Started with RESTful Web Services tutorial, except where the tutorial says to run New > Entity Classes from Database, run New > Web Services > RESTful Web Services from Database.

Note that the RESTful Web Services from Entity Classes wizard is still available in 6.5, for situations where you still need to create entity classes and web services separately.
