In the center of Colombia you’ll find the city of Bogota, a global city of business and of amazing talent. There you can locate a building piercing the skies: the offices of Oracle Colombia. In there, it’s possible that you’ll run into Felipe Jaramillo.
From an early age he wanted to get started in tech; he wanted to be a part of a company that was truly driving innovation. While he’s worked at other companies before, it was at Oracle where he finally found what he was looking for: a fast, agile company that had close relationships with all of their clients and adjusted every product, every solution they offered to the needs of the business.
While he’s encountered many opportunities in his career, a couple of years ago he got a particularly interesting one. He got to become one of the managers and mentors for Oracle Class Of. He got to be one of the architects in the construction of a professional career for Colombia’s brightest minds.
He thought he was going to be teaching some basics about business, like how fast you’re supposed to execute a process, how to get clients, or just show them the ropes of Business Development Channels. While that was a part of the experience, it was also so much more. For Felipe it was not just a chance to teach, but also a chance to learn from them. “They helped me think differently,” he says.
The innovative ideas of the Class Of members showed even their mentor new ways to find and engage with clients. Plus their drive, motivation, and curiosity brought a newfound joy to the office.
As an experienced member of the tech industry with years as a part of the Class Of program, we asked him: Why should people choose Class Of?
“It makes your entrance to the corporate world a much easier process. The program creates elite professionals that are ready for the market right after graduation. And it creates a community as well, so you’re never alone. You learn from industry leaders and it gets you started on a career path with plenty of options for growth.”
For Felipe, it was simply a great experience that helped him enrich the careers of new talent, and grow and develop as a professional himself.
