Life-Long Learning at Oracle

man at desk

Learning and development. Just another buzzword? Or should it be a deal-breaker when choosing my next employer? Should I diversify my skills—or hone them?  Is it really the gate-way to career advancement?

These are some of the questions we might ask ourselves when someone brings up the topic of learning and development. And they’re usually followed by the less-than welcome thoughts, “Who has the time, anyway?” and “What does it even mean to have a learning culture, when it comes down to it?”

That’s the thing. At Oracle, we know how busy you are. We know you have that deadline and that thing after work. But we also know, you crave opportunities to grow and stretch your abilities. And most of all, we know that we succeed by helping you succeed.

That’s why, here at Oracle, we have created a learning environment that is based entirely around you and your needs. When you join Oracle, you’re not just embarking on a career. You’re setting out on a life-long journey of self-discovery and professional growth.

Learn Anytime, Anywhere
Oracle employees are always learning. 150k views of content and paths via Oracle Learning Paths monthly. 177k videos accessed from Lynda.com monthly. 1 million pages of content viewed from Safari monthly.Whether you have 2 minutes or 2 hours to focus on learning, you can dip into our vast library of online resources and choose a learning path that fits your schedule and your interests. Each year, our employees access more than 16 million pieces of content from our online learning library. They make the most of our resources like Lynda.com (Now LinkedIn Learning), Harvard ManageMentor, Safari Books Online, The Financial Times, IEEE Xplore Digital Library, and many, many more.

We also have internal resources that are designed to make L&D on-the-go that much easier. Oracle Learning Paths gives you handy, personalized recommendations based on the skills you put in your profile. So you can quickly find a customized list of classroom sessions, virtual live classes, online courses, books, videos, and quick job aids—and choose the medium that best suits your needs.

Never Stop Learning
The rest, as they say, is down to you. Get the conversation going with your manager. Start thinking about where you want to see yourself in two years’ time, or even ten. Why not start your Digital Marketing education while you wait for your connecting flight? Or master the fundamentals of Data Science after the kids go to bed? Or better yet, make time for self-development while you’re at work. Because that’s what it means to have a learning culture—when it comes down to it.

Check out Oracle job opportunities, and join a company where incredible support and priceless learning opportunities can help you reach your potential.

Certainly trying. Just finished a BS in IT at 52 along with a Certificate in Business and Environmental Sustainability - using Oracle tuition reimbursement, thank you! Learning Python on Linked in Learning and OCI Admin on my OU Cloud Learning Subscription. Both Oracle resources. Had taken a couple great Blockchain courses and will take more. Also have been able to take some excellent managmemt and soft skill courses as well. Of course, the Safari bookshelf resource is excellent as well. It's hard to find the time sometimes but the resources are there.
