Why did you join the Oracle SaaS Applications team?
When you think about what makes a difference in an organization, it is the capability of an agile finance team to collaborate with the business to make critical decisions to shape the future of the company. Oracle is the innovative technology leader in this area, so when the opportunity came about for an Account Director role, I took it.
How is it like to work there?
Most of us are industry-focused—mine is retail. There is a lot of disruption in that industry, which makes it exciting. I spend most of my days engaging with the customers and getting a deep understanding of their business challenges. I see myself as a challenger and an enabler. Oracle’s approach is tomorrow’s capabilities today, which means in many cases, we are positioning a future state with which most customers are not familiar or comfortable. Customer empathy, credibility, and trust are important attributes to have.
Oracle is one of the few technology companies that has the depth and breathe of portfolio and capabilities. When we position One Oracle, we are a formidable force. There is often a need for collaboration across lines of business to help customers achieve their business outcomes.
Why do you enjoy working in the Oracle SaaS Applications team?
Working with great people makes the workplace enjoyable. There is a sense of satisfaction when we deliver value to our customers/prospects. Often, we are involved in their business transformation. It is inspiring to know that we are the technology partner that enabled their business to gain agility and do better in their industry.
Tell us more about your team’s culture and work environment.
When I first joined Oracle, as part of the induction, we were involved in a community project called Big Kitchen. Oracle believes in giving back to the community and we, as new starters, got the opportunity to be part of that by preparing hot meals for those in need. Since then, our own team has continued the tradition with local communities by volunteering our time whenever we can. It is great to see these core values instilled at every level; people are nurturing and giving in our work environment.

Working in large organizations like Oracle allows you to explore career opportunities horizontally and vertically. There is really no limit to what you can do with your career.
