When Victoria O. graduated from college, Oracle’s reputation attracted her to join the company through its Class Of program in July of 2018. “What enticed me to enroll in Class Of was how refined and comprehensive it was: a program that taught recent graduates, or those who were one or two years out of college, all about Oracle’s products, as well as a soft skillset for consulting,” Victoria remembers. “Though my background was more in communications and business, this training allowed me to become a product expert and a consultant who could deliver exceptional experiences to our clients.”
Joining Class Of as a Cloud Analyst, Victoria’s focus was primarily on the Customer Experience (CX) space, working on service-related projects. “I had a great experience working on a big client, in regards to their service lifecycle, and was in charge of implementing Oracle Engagement Cloud. I then switched over to implementing Oracle Sales Cloud for another client,” she explains.
Preconceived, intimidating notions of Oracle being a big, slow-moving company dispelled once Victoria joined the organization. “What I found after joining the North America Applications Consulting (NAAC) organization is that your opinions are respected; people value your time. Innovation and creativity are the pulse of this company,” she says. “Oracle is full of people who are very dedicated to their roles, our clients, and to the success of one another. I absolutely love my job; I love waking up every morning knowing that I work for a company that makes a major impact on the market and our clients. Despite Oracle being an international organization, it feels more like a tech startup, where we’re trying constantly to deliver the best and be the best.”
Since becoming Class Of alumni, Victoria has had no shortage of opportunities to grow. “Throughout my last year, I helped the Town Hall committee promote what we do best here, giving people ideas of how we can leverage all the great things we do internally and externally for our clients,” she mentions. “Through that experience I had the opportunity to network with people within our organization, and actually work with our Talent Strategy team through this initiative. Today, I’m currently in an apprenticeship with Talent Strategy, working with Oracle’s best asset: its people. I feel opportunity is always there; people are willing to mentor and guide you through your career journey.”
Speaking of career journey, Victoria is especially grateful for the opportunities Oracle gives her to engage in one of her most beloved hobbies as part of her job: travel. “This past year, I got the chance to visit our Global Services Delivery team in Bangalore, India. I feel very blessed to have had that experience, to meet face-to-face the teammates with whom I’ve worked so closely over the phone, and understand how business is like over there. Their culture is so beautiful, exciting, and lively! It’s cool to do that in my personal life, as well as part of my career,” Victoria says.
