Life of an Oracle HCM Sales Rep

“I have been in the Software Industry for 4 years now. My previous job was as a Field Sales Rep on SMB Accounts in Paris and now I’m a HCM Inside Sales Rep for Named Accounts. Being at Oracle allows me to sell a large range of HCM Products, covering aspects from Talent Management (how to develop and train your employees), the Recruitment process (how to detect new Talents for your organization, through normal methods or even thanks to the advantages of the Social networks), to Compensations & Benefits. I am the main point of contact for some of the French markets biggest companies which means that I deal with their requests and I manage their various issues, always providing solutions and suggestions based on our portfolio. There is a wide range of products that companies can select from to grow their business and improve the performance.What I truly like about my job at Oracle is that it has given me an international mindset. Being part of this fast and growing company makes you interact with people from all over the world and deal with a variety of responsibilities. As a HCM Sales representative I help my customers that require international HR processes to find solutions to their requests and challenges, according to their local policies and requirements. For instance, one of my clients which are a well-known French Retail company with shops in many countries around the world has recently decided to maximize their recruiting process. Having chosen Oracle HCM Cloud, they will now be able to support the business growth through the recruiting solutions we provided as well as through the new Social Sourcing techniques which we presented. One of my favourite parts about Oracle is that I get to work with some very talented IT people, some of the best in the industry for sure! They come with a different cultural background, and have different nationalities, but we’re all part of the same team and collaborate with each other to reach the business goals.
Another thing that I really like is the training I receive, this has helped me accommodate and develop my skills. For instance, I attended some training sessions such as ‘7 Habits of highly effective people’ and ‘Business Brain’, both of which were delivered by great business professionals.”
When asked about the top tips he would give to a new hire in order to become a successful Sales person at Oracle Direct, Régis said:
“Nowadays, the IT World is a challenging environment that is constantly changing. Oracle, being one of the best companies in the industry, is always one step ahead. You must always adapt to the changes taking place in the company and keep yourself informed and up to date with the latest trends in the industry. On the other hand, you need to work smart and by this I mean to be very professional, dynamic and always collaborate with the rest of the team. The best part is that you grow here at Oracle and even if these abilities are not at a top level, you’ll get the chance to improve yourself.”
Régis thinks the best part about Oracle is the training you get and the career path opportunities that you have access to. “When you join Oracle, you set some personal and professional goals with your Manager and then work to reach them. You obviously need to be a hard worker and always be willing to over-achieve on your targets. There are a few people who I have recommended and who have passed through the recruitment process. They are impressed by the work environment and by the investment in their professional growth. To all our candidates I would say that they shouldn’t think twice, come and join Oracle!”
