Today we are discussing working at Oracle with Francis, based in Belgium, and working as an Applications Sales Representative for CRM, ERP and EPM. Francis joined Oracle in 2012 as a Business Development Manager. As of June this year he moved to an Application Sales Representative role focusing on Public Sector, Utilities, Media and Communication in Belgium and Luxembourg. Before joining Oracle he gained multiple years of Sales experience at different IT companies.
Why Application Sales?
What Francis enjoys most about being an Application Sales Representative is the fact you are selling to the decision makers on C-level within a company. This job also gives you the opportunity to see how companies do business and organise themselves and what is going on in the world. You continuously meet very interesting people who have to solve challenging problems and make sure their companies remain successful and achieve the goals they have defined. As an Application Sales Representative you are able to contribute to the success of these companies.
Compared to other Sales jobs Francis had in the past, the difference at Oracle is the amount of focus in the job. At Oracle you are responsible for selling a specific set of products within a specific sector. Francis is very positive about this approach. He can take a deep dive into the challenges his customers are facing in their business processes.

I am convinced this makes me a better Sales Representative as I am provided with all the information I need to understand my customers and offer them the best solution available in my product portfolio’.
