Embracing the superpowers that come with dyslexia at work

Oracle is committed to creating a workplace where all people can succeed without barriers. Embracing diverse abilities, including neurodiverse people, can bring new ways of approaching problems with deep thinking, creativity, and true innovation.

Our UK Neurodiversity Network is pioneering efforts by developing formal programmes, advising on workplace accommodations, or just helping adjust cultural acceptance.

In honor of Dyslexia Awareness Month, they hosted an inspiring conversation with Kerry Nutley, Sales Development Director - Oracle Human Capital Management.

I LOVE this! Dyslexia is a curse and a blessing. I would not be the creative person I am today if I wasn't dyslexic. Yes, in my career I have had major embarrassing moments, been made fun of in a room full of executives because I'm dyslexic. But it does get better with age because you learn to work around things. I might not be able to write a long report or paper on something, but I can come up with million-dollar ideas that make companies money because I see things differently than everyone else. Thank you so much for embarrassing the dyslexic mind, it truly is a superpower!

Thank you for sharing your story. Not many corporations talk about neurodiversity and the rewards of having people who think differently. It's so important to hear these stories!
