For Andy, Key Account Director for the largest utility in North America, arriving at Oracle’s Utilities Global Business Unit (UGBU) after 31 years with his previous employer fit right into his sweet spot. “I was ready for a change. This opportunity fit very nicely with the skillset that I had: I understand the industry; I enjoy working with all levels within an organization, up to and including the C-suite,” Andy shares.
As part of his role, Andy manages the team that interfaces with the client for all things Oracle. “Within Oracle my role is to keep our client delighted with working with us. It’s very important that we maintain a positive relationship because we want to lean on the innovative things we do with them to propagate the success we have with them elsewhere. The more value we bring to the client, the more we grow our business,” he explains.
“I enjoy working with clients that have an interest in working with us. Oracle is arguably the leader in the Utilities space across many application suites. I like what Oracle does with our solution set in the industry, giving me the opportunity to engage with the largest utility in North America. I’ve been very happy with the team I work with, from day-to-day folks that manage the account, all the way to the executive level.”
Even though Andy has been with the company for only a little over three months, he’s found his transition from his previous employer of 31 years to Oracle’s UGBU seamless. “In terms of how quickly I’ve been able to integrate with the team, it’s been easy. It’s been refreshing that I can pick up the phone and engage with senior-level people within Oracle to help me support this client,” he admits.
