2020 is only four years ahead. How many things can change in these four years in the employment market? Not too many, you may say; but I encourage you to take a moment and re-think your position. According to a LinkedIn research, in 2008 there were zero Big Data Architects. Five years later, the role has boomed (3,440x growth). The same happened to other roles like iOS or Android developers that grew 142 times and 199 times, respectively. We’re living an era where job hopping is almost the norm. There’s a large gap between education and employment and we’re not retiring from the company that hired us as juniors. As jobs continue to change dramatically in a matter of years, the key to thrive is lifelong learning – always expand your knowledge and skills to make sure they never become outdated.
