Why did you join the Oracle SaaS Applications team?

I knew I wanted to join Oracle after I read about the direction the company was taking on its journey to the cloud. The cloud space is no longer the future; it is happening now. This was a ground-floor opportunity to be part of an exciting venture. I love the challenge of seeing the results that my efforts produce in helping customers adopt Oracle products, and become successful using them.

How is a day in the life of a CX Sales Applications Manager in your team?

Being part of a very energetic team, the day starts with a huddle, where we share updates, knowledge, challenges, and communicate with each other.

At CX Applications, we take pride in our work, and we deliver our best. This is the place where we learn and implement first-hand new Oracle Cloud Applications.

As a CX Applications Sales Representative, my primary job is to inspire my customers to learn, to understand, and to help them to achieve their business goals, leveraging Oracle Applications.

I don’t just sell customers things, but a feeling, a class, an idea, a dream, a possibility. If you can do this, if you can fulfill customers’ needs and help them achieve their dreams, then you have won them over for life, not just for that one sale.

What inspires you in your Oracle SaaS Applications role?

Oracle is a large company, though the CX Applications team is not that big yet. I enjoy being part of a growing team and working with some of the best talent in the industry. I especially like the challenge of building a sales business and seeing it become successful.

My team and our customers inspire me. If I can make a difference and help my customers to get better solutions, then I’m winning! Oracle is so future-focused and forward thinking—it’s thrilling to be part of a company that really sees the big picture, and always plans for a better tomorrow. It motivates me to know that I’m helping to build that future.

Tell us more about the meaningful work that you do in Oracle SaaS Applications.

I think that, on a basic level, working with people changes lives. How we interact with people on a daily basis can have a huge impact on the happiness of the people around us. It’s great that in the office we have such a positive culture of kindness and inclusion. This definitely translates to our relationships with customers. When you take the time to actually understand someone, and make an effort to help make his or her day better, everybody wins.

What can you tell us about the culture and work environment in the Oracle SaaS Applications team?

Life at Oracle is fun! One good indicator of that is how much of my day I spend smiling and laughing. I think that when people are working in a role that they find fulfilling, it shows. One thing I especially like is how everyone always has time for you at Oracle. There’s usually always some kind of fun social activity in which to get involved. It’s great to have the opportunity to meet new people with whom you have something in common.

What are the career opportunities available in your team?

We’re currently looking for strategic salespeople. I’m seeking self-motivated, high-performing team players with the drive to bring together the suite of different technologies available at Oracle to deliver successful business outcomes for our clients.

As an Applications Sales Representative, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead customer engagements. You’ll work with local, regional, and global experts to solve and deliver tangible business outcomes within the Enterprise economy. You’ll work directly with line-of-business and C-suite leaders, qualifying opportunities and leading innovation workshops.

The ideal candidate will have experience selling and driving digital innovation initiatives for commercial customers. If you have a proven record of leading customer engagements to meet business objectives, we want to hear from you. Other key skills include excellent communication skills, a customer-centric and collaborative approach, strong data and metrics bias, and a keen understanding of cloud solutions. Most importantly, I’m looking for someone who is passionate about helping customers to transform using cloud technologies.

What career advice can you share with our readers?

Find a place to work where you can be your authentic self, somewhere you can thrive and grow. For me, that place is Oracle. If you can really be yourself at work, then you will be empowered to seize opportunities and reach your full potential. If you work hard, the opportunities will always present themselves. Also, find something that you feel passionate about—if you can’t pursue that in your daily job, then pursue it outside of work. Lead a balanced life!
