We are open sourcing the Java Dynamic Management Kit

You may have seen an OpenDMK project lingering on java.net for a few weeks: Well, I am pleased to announce that we have pushed a first snapshot of the sources just before JavaOne.

The code base of project OpenDMK comes from the Java DMK 5.1. It includes a ready to use implementation of cascading, as well as a discovery API, and a feature to add MBeanServerInterceptors to JMX MBeanServers.

And oh, yes, it's available on either GPL or CDDL license. So if you're interested, have a look at Project OpenDMK.

cheers,

Note: The first version doesn't contain the SNMP runtime yet, but we're working on this... In the mean time, if you want to experiment with the SNMP stack, you can download and use the free Java DMK 5.1 trial version which has the necessary bits.
Comments:

When will the snmp runtime be supplied with the open source solution?

Hi Damian,

We're working on this. I am currently waiting for our legal folks to review the licenses etc...
If I get a positive feedback I'll only have one button to press.

Stay tuned to https://opendmk.dev.java.net/servlets/SummarizeList?listName=users for updates.

cheers,
