Long time no blog...

... so I thought I'd drop a line. I have just uploaded a small set of slides of a high level presentation of project OpenDMK on the project's home page.

These are the slides of the OpenDMK presentation I did at the Grenoble Software Technical Event last month.

I also hope you find my new list of tags (top of my blog page) useful. For instance - here are all my articles tagged opendmk.

Cheers,

Hi Daniel,
thanks for your interesting presentation about opendmk.
Only a question: I'm interested in MbeanServer cascading/federation and I haven't understand if there are differences in cascading api between opendmk and jmx2.0
thanks

Hi,

JMX 2.0 API is still work in progress - so it is difficult to answer to this question yet.
Let me say that the APIs that will let you create the relations between master and sub agent will be different, and the way in which the cascaded MBeans appear in the master agent will also be different.

However - if you're using OpenDMK cascading on JMX 1.2, it should still work in the same way over JMX 2.0 if you don't switch to the standard APIs.

JMX 2.0 is in early draft review - if you are interested, watch out for the public draft review on www.jcp.org.

Cheers,
