Just installed OpenSolaris Developer Preview 2. Very easy and fast download and install. Give it a try. Thanks, guys. Very nice.

So I have a question Jim. I have not made any great strides in getting OpenSolaris Running. The Installer is confusing to me. I know I am going to catch hell but the Ubuntu installer is simple and me like simple. Is OpenSolaris moving in the direction? On click installs. I like the power of Solaris but to date i just use a VM to play around with OpenSolaris.
BTW: It looks really nice.

I have posted screenshots of running DP2 in SXDE4 under VirtualBox in PecasaWeb:
A more advanced discussion can be found in Alan Burlison's blog:
Both DP2 and VirtualBox look very good.

I threw it on Parallels Desktop on my MacBook. Installed smoothly. Runs quick and clean. But... I guess it doesn't like the emulated NE2000 NIC, because it's not seeing any network interfaces aside from localhost. :(
It looks really promising though, and the performance seems to be great for running under a hypervisor with 512MB of RAM. Even the Live CD stuff ran better than I expected before I installed it. Very nice!
