Nokia Announces Motion Sensor SDK for 5500

Normally, I only see applications for accelerometers in the TV show.. "Mythbusters". I thought this was a cool addition to a cell phone.. a motion detector. The internal sensor provides continuous output of acceleration values for the device's three axes (X, Y and Z). One of the pre-installed applications in the Nokia 5500 is a 3D accelerometer to monitor the user's movements. I wonder how this would look after I go into a mosh pit. It would bring some interesting possibilities for games.. I can see someone writing a game to simulate a golf club in your cell phone... maybe someone going to be swinging their cell phone like a sword? Imagine a bowling game where you just "roll" your cell phone. Download the Sensor API Plug-in Learn more about the Nokia 5500 Sport phone
