A bit of clarification on how Sun Convergence handle languages.

There are three factors that affect the displayed language of Sun Convergence:

  • the browser locale
  • the user preferences in Sun Convergence
  • the languages in the log in page

How do these three factors interacts ? I would say the the languages in the log in page rules everything, the user preferences in Sun Convergence comes afterward, and finally the browser locale counts only for the log in page.

Case1: browser locale ... just for the fun

1-set your browser locale to fr
2-access the login page -> it is displayed in French

The browser locale only affects how the the log in page is displayed.

Case 2: the user locale takes over

1-set your browser locale to fr
2-access the login page -> it is displayed in French
3-log in with Spanish user that has Spanish as preferred locale -> Sun Convergence console will be in Spanish

The user locale defines in which language is displayed the console once logged in.

Case3: the languages in the log in page rules them all

1-set your browser locale to fr
2-access the login page -> it is displayed in French
3-click on Deutch from the list of languages in the loggin page -> login page is not displayed in German
4-login with Spanish user that has Spanish as preferred locale -> iWC console will be in German

Selecting a preferred language in the log in page will have affect over everything !
