Approaching 40

So I am getting ready to start blogging in a work capacity, but the first thing that's on my mind is my impending birthday. It forces me to reflect on the last decade and to take stock of what I have (a fantastic family and a great job) and what I wish I didn't have (some new grey hairs and 20 extra pounds).

On the one hand, I feel like I ought to be strutting the 20 pounds around like a badge of honor. After all, those pounds represent the pregnancy that produced my beautiful daughter, quitting smoking at age 30, my MS degree, and, of course, a lot great food and good wine.

But on the other hand ... I'd really love to be shaped more like I was when I was 25. A friend of mine just told me that 40 is the new 25, so why shouldn't I look like it? 20 pounds in 10 weeks. That's not impossible, right?

Comments:

Well Being that I have a year and a half until my 40th I'm glad to hear that 40 is the new 25! When I was younger I use to face being 40 with some trepidation but now I'm just about ready to take the bull by the horns so-to-speak.

Well Happy Belated 40!
