Ensure Lower JD Edwards TCO Using Change Assistant!

One of the best and easiest ways to get higher value and to lower the cost associated with managing your JD Edwards software is to leverage JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and World Change Assistant - an awesome tool provided on My Oracle Support.

Change Assistant allows a single point of entry to facilitate administration of software updates & fixes. This application utilizes a navigational tree to help manage your deployment processes and enhance your search capability over Update Center and My Oracle Support information. 

Change Assistant is available to customers on EnterpriseOne release 8.9 and higher.
Features include the following:
  • Defect Category for searching specific defects such as memory and performance concerns
  • Package Details and SAR Details buttons have been added to tabs to allow better content integration
  • Work with Batches buttons have been added to allow editing for better deployment of packages
  • Integrated News & Links for current information regarding downloads and installation guides
  • Advanced Search including: Date Ranges, System Code Searches and Multiple Object Selection
  • Subscriptions utilizing Saved Personal Queries and JD Edwards Pre-Defined Queries
  • Net Change comparing current packages to superceded
  • Integrated Downloading per result page
  • Deployment Features including direct download and deployment of multiple ESUs to selected environments
  • Help - New Enhancements shows all the new enhancements introduced in the version
  • Analyze and Summarize options help determine the deployment impact and consolidates Special Instructions
  • Impact Analysis option automates the Impact Analysis application
  • Visual UDC and Glossary Compare option automates the process to update the Automated Special Instructions
  • Support for deploying Oracle Business Accelerators for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
  • Enhanced JDBC driver support
  • JDK 1.6 Support
  • Enhanced Support for Locale Preferences
  • Enhanced Business Accelerator Support
  • Batch Deployment Enhancements
Note that Change Assistant also works for Localization. Localization ESUs are grouped on their own, then broken listed by region, country and release.

Installing Change Assistant: 

1) Click here to install the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 24 for 32-bit Windows (i.e., JRE 1.6.0_24). Be sure to install the 32 bit version (i.e. from the list choose Windows Offline Installation, jre-6u24-windows-i586.exe). EnterpriseOne and Change Assistant are 32 bit applications which require the 32 bit version of the JRE. 

If you have not installed the JRE, Change Assistant cannot be launched and executed. 
2) Click here to install and launch the latest version of Change Assistant.

Summit 2014 Registration Is Open

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for Oracle's 5th Annual JD Edwards Summit - Monday, January 27th through Friday, January 31st, 2014, in Broomfield, Colorado. The theme of this year's Summit is "Success Through Continued Innovation”.  Our goals are to update you on our current and future product roadmap, new products, selling strategies for new prospects, growing the footprint in our JD Edwards install base, as well as providing a venue for networking. 

The JD Edwards Summit is to the selling and servicing community what COLLABORATE is to the user community.  This is a MUST ATTEND event if you recommend, sell, implement and/or support the JD Edwards product, whether you are new to JD Edwards or a seasoned pro, an executive, account executive, in presales or in consulting. 

The Summit promises a content-rich and unique networking experience for all attendees. Highlights include:

  •  Monday afternoon kicks off the Summit with a variety of workshops as well as an afternoon preview of the Sponsor Showcase.  Start your networking at the Summit kickoff party Monday evening.
  • Tuesday morning features several informative keynotes in the Summit General Assembly followed by key messages delivered in Super Sessions in the afternoon, focused on each of the JD Edwards community audiences.
