Wet but not Star Struck at Starbucks
By John Clingan on Feb 19, 2005
Here's something you don't get every day in the midwest - A water spout. A water spout is a tornado out over a body of water (like the Pacific Ocean :) ). Huntington Beach had a water spout touch down sometime over the night. Is this a prelude to "The Day After Tomorrow"? Southern California is simply water logged right now (again). No complaints, though. We really need it. I didn't know that Southern California could be so green.
It's a family outing at Starbucks today. My daughter is doing some homework (Kumon), my wife is reading Investors Business Daily (show me da' MONEY in a Jerry McGuire kind of way :) ) and I am blogging and reading up on DTrace.
So we are in depth with our "own thing", and up pulls an SUV with heavily tinted windows, out comes the driver, walks around to the other side of the car, and out comes Sandra Bullock. Not quite in her Miss Congeniality gear, but dressed in every day clothes (and she goes by "Sandy" for her order). We're not star struck, though. I'd rather learn Dtrace, my wife would rather show me the money, and my daughter would rather watch Princess Stories on her portable DVD player :)
