There is a cool picture of a water spout in the Huntington Beach newspaper from last Saturday. The water spout is 100 yards (meters) from the pier. I googled but couldn't find the picture online to show you. This is the closest I could find (one or two of the pictures shows a water spout wwwaaayyy out there).
According to the news, the water spout jumped across Pacific Coast Highway and became an official tornado, although there was no damage. Winds were only 40-60 MPH. We have gusts close to that from the Santa Ana winds.
Since it was a Saturday, I was still sleeping and missed it. The consolation prize was Sandra Bullock.
