Prefacing articles on Sun

The embattled New York Times (NYT) has been in the doldrums the past couple of years as their journalistic integrity has been in question. Between the recovery from the Jayson Blair fiasco and defending constant accusations of liberal bias, the New York Times took some time out to interview Scott McNealy ...

I took the liberty of introducing the NYT article the way the NYT introduces Sun. It irks me the way newspapers and magazines preface articles about Sun, so I think turnabout is fair play :) Thanks to Jim for pointing out the article.

Comments:

Yep. It's a common technique, and we should call them on it every single time. No exceptions.

What's nice about this is that the press no longer "owns" the conversation like they once did. They are no longer special, or even credible, in many instances. They are simply "part" of the conversation right along with the rest of us, which is where they belong and always have. The amount of power they have lost is stunning, and I believe this is a good thing and should continue.
