Is it the year of Linux ... Again

Look, it's the year of Linux ... again. Chalk up this 2005 prediction (#6 on the list) as being true. I'll admit the title is a "question", but is it really? Who are the "some" in "some believe" anyway?

How about another prediction? 2006 will be the year of Linux in some way ...

For those of you regular readers out there, you'll know I run the Linux based JDS. Perhaps 2006 is the year of Linux on the desktop. 2007? That's the year of auto(mobile)-Linux. 2008? That's the year of pacemaker-Linux. 2009? The year of nano-Linux. Where does it end?? 2010, that's where Linux becomes the Matrix :)

Comments:

Hmm, when was the first year of the "year of Linux"? And what were the other years of, before being "of Linux"? Was there ever a Year of Windows98, for 2 or 3 years in a row? a.

I thought 2005 would be the "Year of Itanium"
what does it mean "The Year of X" anyway? Is it the year X will apear? (Too late)
Is it the year X will be known? (My phather already knows about Linux, he doesn't use it but he knows it)
Is it the Year that X will dominate the Market? (with Market? the Server Market? The Desktop?)
Or, is it the year when it sells to write news about that topic?
