Java.Net at JavaOne

Here's a note from Sonya Barry, the Community Manager from Java.Net:

I'm excited about Java.net's activities at JavaOne this year.  As usual we'll be having our Community Leads meeting on the Saturday before JavaOne starts.  This is a group of Oracle employees and community volunteers who take leadership roles on the site.  We talk about issues in the community and develop our roadmap for the next year.  It's a fantastic time to see people from across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Brazil.  Since we only have this time when we can all be in one room once a year, we definitely make the most of it.

 Java.Net Community Leads Meeting 2010

I'm also excited that we have two new members of our infrastructure team this year.  Tonya Moore, Assistant Community Manager, and Frank Nikola, who maintains our CMS and social/community side of the site will be coming to JavaOne for the first time and are eager to be meeting members of the community face to face at last.

Kevin Farnham, our site editor will also be in town to cover the week, both for Java.net and Java Magazine.  He'll be attending sessions, blogging, and interviewing people all week.  We'll also be pitching in to run the Oracle Technology Network table at the Mason Street Cafe.  When off duty, we'll probably be hanging out on a nearby couch, so please stop by and say hello.

We will also be attending the JUG event on Sunday, the OTN Night party on Monday, and the JUG leads dinner on Tuesday.

Hope to see you at JavaOne!
