Here is some more insight into the experts delivering at this year’s event:
Ben Evans is the CEO and co-founder of the startup jClarity, which delivers Java performance tools to help development and operations teams. He will be delivering the Java Performance Tuning session which never fails to be a popular topic. He is an organizer for the London Java Community (LJC) and a member of the JCP Executive Committee, helping define standards for the Java ecosystem. Evans is a Java Champion, JavaOne Rock Star.
Joe Boulenouar has been teaching at Java University for many years now and always gets great interest in his sessions and rave student reviews. This year, he is delivering our Architect and Design Robust Enterprise Java Applications for the Cloud and Beyond session. Joe holds advanced graduate degrees in computer science and computer engineering and is a senior principal technical instructor with Oracle University.
Paul Anderson is delivering our Getting Started with Java FX session. He is a founding member of the Anderson Software Group, a leading provider of training courses in Java and other programming languages. Paul and his wife Gail Anderson are co-authors of several Java textbooks and have conducted technical sessions and hands-on labs at JavaOne conferences in San Francisco, Latin America, and Russia.
Take a Tour of Rest with one of Oracle’s principal Java curriculum developers, Matt Heimer. Heimer has more than twelve years experience teaching courses on Java, Solaris, and Linux. He enjoys helping people further their Java skills and is actively involved in Java certification development.
Ed Burns and Oliver Szymanski are co-teaching the JSF from a New Perspective: JSF 2.2, HTML5, Bean Validation 1.1, EL 3.0, JPA 2.1 session which is definitely a buzz topic of the year. Ed is currently a consulting member of the technical staff at Oracle, where he leads a team of web experts from across the industry in developing JavaServer Faces technology through the Java Community Process and in open source and is the author of many books. Oliver is an international, independent Java enterprise consultant with a diploma in computer science and information technology. He is a founder of the Association of Java User Groups (ijug.eu), a former member of the board of directors, and founder of the Java User Group Nuremberg.
Dr. Richard Warburton is an empirical technologist and solver of deep-dive technical problems Recently he has been working on information capture and data analytics for high performance computing. He is also the author of the upcoming O’Reilly book on ‘Java 8 Lambdas’. He has a growing interest in conference speaking and tries to help the London Java Community and sits on their JCP Committee. He has also assisted in several pieces of core Java technology such as Lambdas and Date and Time in Java 8 and helps organise the adopt-a-jsr program He will deliver the Using Java 7 & 8 Features in your code session.
Evan Troyka has been teaching our Java Exam Prep seminar session for several years now at Java University and this year will be delivering the Java SE 7 OCA and OCP Exam Prep session. Troyka was named Java Instructor of the Year in 1998 and 2002, and has delivered more than 300 Java technology courses over the years for many clients. Troyka currently works in Java software development for Concord USA, of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Michael Ernest who will be teaching our Java EE 55/6 Web Component Developer Certification Exam cram session started using Java in 1995, and has worked with the language and JVM as a contractor in many production environments ever since. He is the author of Oracle's Java Design Patterns course and a contributing subject matter expert to the Java Architect course. He was an item writer for the Oracle Certified Master Java 6 Architect exam. His book "Java SE 7 Programming Essentials" was released in October 2012. Currently Ernest teaches a variety of subjects that include Java EE programming, JVM performance management, and Hadoop programming.
Eduardo Moranchel and Edgar Martinez are both Java curriculum developers at Oracle and will be delivering their Getting Started with the Java EE 7 New Features course. Eduardo has more than nine years of experience developing applications with Java. Edgar Martinez (@edmtzx) has worked at IBM and Freescale, developing Java EE applications for computer-integrated manufacturing and enjoys sharing best practices with practical examples for building enterprise applications with Java.
