Attention Brazilian developers: Do you want to sharpen your Java skills and learn about programming for digital TV? The weekend of March 9-10 in Sao Paulo, GlobalCode will host the Ginga Hackathon, a free programming marathon held by Oracle of Brazil in partnership with Globalcode. You will learn to develop applications for Digital TV with Java, form teams, and compete.
The Ginga Hackathon is a whole weekend of discussion, planning and creativity applied to the development of interactive applications for Digital TV with Java with Ginga-J. After a brief presentation on development of interactive applications for Digital TV, attendees will have a time to hone their ideas and create development teams. On Sunday, teams will refine and finalize a second or third version of the project for presentation at the end of the hackathon. Free lunch and pizza will be provided. You can find a details at gingahackathon.java.net.
Globalcode has created a course on development of interactive applications with Ginga especially for this hackathon collaboration with Carlos Gonçalves and Thiago Vespa. It is a great way to prepare for the hackathon. The course is free and open to all, even if you cannot attend the Ginga hackathon (in Brazilian Portuguese).
Hopefully, you can attend and learn and do some networking, which is a big step for anyone who wants to work professionally with Java and Digital TV or just get to know a new area of development!
