Feedback Wanted: Java SE 8

Oracle releases periodic early access snapshots of the binaries and documentation for JDK 8 snapshots on java.net. These raw snapshots let you review and contribute to the Java SE platform as it is being developed. Please download the latest preview updates JDK 8, the next generation of the Java Development Kit.  Kick the tires, give it a test drive and share your feedback. You can get the source code through the OpenJDK jdk8 project. The JDK 8 Features page lists the JEPs currently funded and targeted to JDK 8.

Please use the Project Feedback forum if you have suggestions for or encounter issues using JDK 8.

If you find bugs in a release, please submit them using the usual Java SE bug reporting channels, not with the Issue tracker accompanying this project. Be sure to include the complete version information from the output of the  java -version  command.

The Java community is an integral part in continuing to improve the quality of Java releases.  We're looking forward to your participation!

Download the latest JDK 8 Early Access snapshots at https://jdk8.java.net/

Comments:

I'd love to go into more detail but JDK8 explicitly refuses to attempt installation on my Mac (which is ~4 years old). If you like I could give you some feedback on the OpenJDK version, when I eventually manage to get that to compile.

As i cant able to set Background colour for ScrollPane after the version java 8 b-109.. so tell me whether this issue will be fixed on next release or update or it should be a permanent bug...

I tried the new Java feature on the stream/parallelStream in collections and found out:

.. Map.entrySet().parallelStream() ... has unexpected (wrong) results while Map.entry().stream() works perfectly fine. Is this correct? or a bug? If it is not a bug, how to use parallelStream with Map.entrySet()?

Any suggestion will be appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

JDK 1.8 b129, JFX8

TableView :

TableView::getItems().clear() refreshes the view now (no need to invoke getItems().removeAll) but if you clear the "model" and use TableColumn::setCellFactory() in order to set a cells renderer, you MUST call setGraphic(null) in the renderer class to erase previous nodes that are removed in the model (ObservableList). This was not necessary with JavaFX 2.2.

I would really like to. Found a SIGSEGV error in the 8 RE.

But all the links to the bug report channels are dead ...

See my post here: https://www.java.net/forum/topic/jdk/java-se-snapshots-project-feedback/where-report-java-8-se-bugs

In general web sites related to core Java projects are a total mess after Oracle acquired Sun. No one even cares to check then for dead links.

Adam,
The correct URL is
http://bugreport.java.com/bugreport/
we've fixed the links you pointed out in your blog. Please let us know if you find any more bad links out there.

I use play minecraft a lot and i tried java 8 with it.
I put java 8 through the ultimate test, minecraft with 77 mods, here is what i have to say

I get the massive frame rate spikes up to 100 fps between massive, annoying lag spikes. it lags when ever i move switch items or break blocks. I would like it if i could see a little optimization for minecraft. without the frequent lag spikes it would be a huge, epic performance increase.
