Titan Attacks

Between family and job I end up always being pretty busy. I like playing video games, but getting a block of time long enough to put into any of the Big Games is pretty much impossible. So I'm always looking for games that you can play quickly and get a thrill-buzz in just a few minutes. After about a billion rounds, the attraction of Solitaire has worn pretty thin. Lately I've been playing Titan Attacks from the folks at PuppyGames. It's got a great kickback-in-a-bar-with-a-beer arcade feel to it. Thanks Cas!

PS. If you try it out, and you like it, consider paying for it: that'll help more great new games happen.

Comments:

You should try "XSoldier" under Unix (Solaris, Linux), nothing for Mac OS X or winDOZE yet... :-)

Puppy games are excellent. I like Ultratron, Droïd Assault and Titan Attacks. The author creates near-commercial quality games with beautiful graphical user interfaces, it is really impressive. If you need more Java games that you can play quickly, have a look at the FGF players' portal, there are about 40 2D and 3D Java games, some of which are TUER, Jake2, Tesseract, Breaking The Tower... The Java Game Tome and Java Gameplay are fine too.

I recently discovered a remake of that old favourite from the 1980s, Zaxxon.
The Windows version is pretty nice, haven't tried the Linux version.

Nice, that got me addicted right away :). Some of the Introversion games can also be played in a shorter time span, such as Defcon, or shorter Darwinia levels.
