I often hear from customers that we don't have enough SOA Suite on premises sessions at Oracle OpenWorld. Well, here is an exciting SOA session with three amazing speakers, who will share their adventures with Oracle SOA Suite: Candace McAvaney from ALLETE/Minnesota Power, Mark Harrison from Eaton Corporation and Awais Bajwa from GE Digital.

Candace McAvaney is the senior Enterprise Application Integration architect/developer at ALLETE/Minnesota Power. In her over 10 years of development using the SOA framework, she has implemented nearly 100 interfaces between applications including the Oracle Customer Care and Billing application, IBM Maximo Work Management application, Oracle Enterprise Business System, GE Outage Management System, Sensus Automatic Metering/Smart Grid system, and Accruent Mobile Workforce application. She has presented sessions at the Oracle SOA Customer Advisory Board and the Minnesota Fusion Middleware User's Group.

During the OOW panel, Candace will provide Insight into ALLETE/Minnesota Power’s SOA Suite history, the reasoning behind selecting Oracle SOA Suite, their integration guidelines and best practices and what components they have been using. She will also spend a few minutes on their plans for a hybrid platform, spanning cloud and on premises.

Mark Harrison just completed 20 years’ service with Eaton Corporation. He was initially working as Oracle Applications DBA and DBA Manager and for the past 6 years working within the Integration space as Eaton Information Integration Manager. He is managing a virtual team of professionals (70+) who are responsible for the end 2 end business integration of systems across Eaton, business partners and customers (Internal/External). Mark is responsible for Integration strategy globally, project delivery (PM certified), enterprise integration support, vendor management and budget planning/tracking.

The focus of Mark’s presentation will be the use of Oracle SOA 12c within a traditional manufacturing environment at Eaton, from the use case to the implementation, best practices, lessons learned and future plans.
