From the May 2021 release onwards, you can now associate an Integration Insight model to a process application in Processes to easily monitor and analyze your business processes. This means you can view metrics for a business process implementation that is defined in Integrations, Processes, or that spans across both.
Follow the steps below to get started:
First, create an insight model based on your business process and activate it.
For example: Let us consider a travel approval business process. This process involves a couple of milestones, identifier, and indicators as shown below.
Milestones:
Indicators:
Unique Instance Identifier:
In this example, we are creating a Travel Approval Application using the QuickStart template as shown below.
Now, let us connect this process to the Insight model we activated earlier.
All the activated models are listed. Select the one relevant. In this case, we select the Travel Process Model we activated earlier. Click on the Link.
Once the insight Model is connected, it displays as shown below:
Now, the insight activity for connecting to the Travel Process Model appears on the design palette.
Based on the indicators mapped to the milestones, the data association fields get populated.
Make sure the identifier value is mapped appropriately to uniquely identify and correlate the transactions.
Let us test this with some sample requests.
Navigate to My Tasks from the OIC home page. Click on My Apps.
Select your process application. In this case Submit Travel Request (1.2).
Fill the form and click on Submit.
Take action on the tasks as needed.
As the process transactions progress, you will be able to visualize them in the Insight console as shown below.
With this new feature, you can build consolidated real-time visibility into business processes spanning across multiple integration and process flows.
