Oracle OpenWorld 2018 Highlights

Vika Mlonchina
Product Marketing Manager

With another Oracle OpenWorld in the books, we want to take a moment to reflect on some of this year's highlights.

First, let us start by thanking those who make OOW the success that is it: our incredible customers and partners. Your stories inspire us every day and we are so glad to have been able to share them with thousands of attendees at OpenWorld.

Thank you to our customer and partner speakers and panelists:

Erik Dvergsnes, (Aker BP), Michael Morales (Quality Metrics Partners), Lonneke Dikmans, (eProseed Europe), Patrick McMahon (Regional Transportation District), Steven Tremblay (Graco Inc), Wade Quale (Graco Inc.), Suresh Sharma (Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation), Sandeep Singh (GE), David VanWiggeren (Drop Tank), Deepak Kakar (Western Digital), Timothy Lomax (Mitsubishi Electric Automation), Candace McAvaney (Minnesota Power), Mark Harrison (Eaton Corp), Awais Bajwa (GE), Nishi Deokule (GetResource Inc),  Murali Palanisamy (DXC Technology), Bhavnesh Patel (UHG Optum Services Inc.), Biswajit Dhar (Unitedhealth Group Incorporated), Karl Jonsson (Reinhart), Lakshmi Pavuluri (The Wonderful Company), Eric Doty (Greenworks Tools), Susan Gorecki (American Red Cross), Timothy Dickson (Laureate Education), Marc Murphy (Atlatl Software), Chad Ulland (Minnkota Power Cooperative), Amit Patanjali (ICU Medical), Rajendra Bhide (GE), Jonathan Hult (Mythics), Wilson Farrar (UiPath), Xander van Rooijen (Rabobank), Kevin King (AVIO Consulting), Milind Joshi (WorkSpan), Palash Kundu (Achaogen), Simon Haslam (eProseed UK), Matthew Gilbride (Skanska), Chris Maggiulli (Latham Pool Products), Duane Debique (Sinclair Broadcast Group), Ravi Gade (Calix, Inc), and Jagadish Manchikanti (Tupperware).

We would also like to congratulate our 2018 Oracle Cloud Platform Innovation Award winners: Drop Tank, Ministry of Interior Turkey, The Co-operative Group, and Meliá Hotels International. Their innovation journeys were truly inspiring!

More than anything, #OOW18 was about innovation, sharing our customer’s successes, and Oracle’s strategy and vision! This year's OOW was abuzz with 60,000 customers and partners from 175 countries and 19 million virtual attendees. We had 50+ sessions on integration, process and APIs, taking center stage even in SaaS sessions for ERP, HCM and CX cloud. This year was all about using integration to mobilize digital transformation, looking at areas like API-led integration and innovation with Robotic Process Automation, IoT, AI, blockchain, and machine learning.

Connecting with customers and partners is always a top highlight of OpenWorld. This year, Oracle VP of Product Management, Vikas Anand, had a chance to connect with UiPath’s Brent Haley. Take a look to hear a bit how we are bringing AI and RPA into Oracle's Integration Platform and more.

Before OpenWorld, we shared a few of our most buzzed about sessions with you. No matter which sessions you were able to attend, we hope you found them informative and left OOW with fresh knowledge and inspiration.

And as always, executive keynotes were a major highlight of OOW. In case you missed any, you can catch them here.

With the help from our customers and partners, #OOW18 was a smash hit! We cannot wait to see what the next year will bring.
