What are OCI Console Announcements

OCI Console Announcements are the messages which are sent to tenant administrator's email to notify them about information related to service status that will impact their tenancy.Tenant administrators can view most recent announcements and the announcements from the past by clicking on the bell icon on the Home Page of OCI Console. Learn more about OCI Console announcements here.

 

Clicking on the bell icon on OCI console navigates the users to the OCI Announcements page which displays announcements related to all OCI Cloud services as shown in the picture below.

 

Announcements In Oracle Integration Home Page

Since the OCI announcements are sent only to the email of tenant administrators, the Oracle Integration administrators don't receive these emails and tend to miss out on the key updates. 

From November 2020 quarterly release onwards users can view all the announcements related to Oracle Integration service on Oracle Integration Home Page. They can also continue to view these announcements in OCI Console announcements page like before. Since most of the Oracle Integration users spend their time within the Oracle Integration product, having the ability to view all announcements in the Oracle Integration console will be of immense help to them. 

Please note :  This is one of the upcoming features which will be available only on Oracle Integration Generation2 instances from November 2020 release onwards.

Oracle Integration team typically sends out two different types of announcements

  • Maintenance -These type of announcements are typically sent to inform Oracle Integration administrators about an upcoming release which requires patching.
  • Action Required - These type of announcements are sent when Oracle Integration administrators are expected to take an action and perform a step within a certain timeframe.

 

Enabling Oracle Integration Announcements in OCI Console

You will have to define two policies in the tenancy by logging into the OCI Console.  Once these policies are being applied in OCI console, Oracle Integration users will be able to view announcements related Oracle Integration service in within Oracle Integration console.

 

View Oracle Integration Announcements On Home Page

The urgent announcements related to Oracle Integration appear in a banner as shown in the picture below.

 

You can click on the bell icon to launch a dialog which provides a tabular view of all the announcements.

 

The upcoming announcements are represented with a blue circle icon and users can click on the announcement to view details. You can go through the list of announcements and mark them as read or unread.

You can click on any of the announcements in the list to view the details as shown in the picture below.

Summary
From November 2020 release onwards users can view all announcements related to Oracle Integration on the Home Page of Oracle Integration console.This functionality is available only on Oracle Integration Generation2 instances.
