When you log into an Oracle Integration instance, the first page you see is the OIC Home Page. This page helps you navigate to the areas of the product you need, provides relevant metrics and status and shows your current tasks and actions. We have redesigned the Home Page to provide the most relevant information as well as to expose new functionality in the product. The new Home Page will become available shortly.
Note: What we describe here is the new Home Page for Oracle Integration Generation 2 instances. For older Oracle Integration instances, the Home Page will remain the same for now (until of course, your instance is upgraded to Generation 2).
Here’s a preview of the new Home Page:
The first thing you will notice is the ability to try a recipe. Recipes are pre-assembled solutions to help jump-start your integration development. You can try out one of the recipes highlighted here, or search for others. More about recipes later.
Next is the Summary section where you are presented with the following:
My Tasks gives you information on your assigned open and total Process tasks. See here for more information on how to view tasks and manage your work.
Processes tells you how many process instances are in progress and completed. Click on this card to access your Process Applications. See here for more information on automating processes with Oracle Integration.
Integration gives a view of the number of messages processed and how many activations failed. Click on it and you will get a more detailed dashboard including: messages received / failed; Agent health; active integrations; daily and hourly history of successful and failed instances). Insight visually shows you the number of activated, deactivated models and total models. Clicking on the card will bring you directly to the models. See here for more information on using Integration Insight for collecting and collating business metrics.
Now let's move further down the page for the highlight!
Accelerators and recipes are a great way to get jump-started on building your integrations. Accelerators are run-ready business integrations or technical patterns you can configure and activate. Recipes are starter templates that give you a head start. Some of the recipes exist today as separate downloads via Oracle Marketplace and other repositories. We have harvested Oracle-built recipes and made them available as part of Oracle Integration instances. So our new Home Page brings these right to your doorstep!
For instance, say you need to perform contact sync between Oracle Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. There’s a recipe for that. Or say you want to increase productivity by having activities automatically created from IoT Cloud Service to Field Cloud Service. There's a recipe for that. Or say you need to retrieve issue data from Jira Service Desk and synchronize it with case data in NetSuite. There’s a recipe for that.
You simply select the desired recipe card from the home page. Say you want to streamline the entire opportunity to quote to order process with Oracle Engagement Cloud and Oracle CPQ Cloud. You guessed it, there's a recipe for that.
Now, install the recipe by hovering over the card and clicking on the + sign:
The recipe is now installed.
Hover over the card now, and you will see options to configure, activate and delete.
Now click configure and configure the connections to point to your applications.
Then, activate the recipe and you will see the integrations associated with the recipe.
These are fully editable, so you can edit the integrations and associated mappings to fit your specific business needs. Now we have successfully installed and configured our recipe!
Accelerators take this one step further. These are run-ready integrations which can provide business value out of the box, with no customizations on your part. You will notice technical accelerators, which provide technical solutions. For example, say you want to be alerted via text of email when a failure occurs in one of your integrations. There’s a technical accelerators for that.
Business Accelerators solve a specific business need. These are more than samples, but rather can be used as end-to-end solutions. For instance, say you need to automate the complete order-to-cash process between Shopify and NetSuite by synchronizing customers, products, orders, fulfillments and payments.There will be a Business Accelerator for that. We will be introducing Business Accelerators on the Home Page soon, so stay tuned!
Lastly, if you are looking for dashboard level information available in the prior Home Page, click on the integration card in the Summary section (shown above).
Our redesigned Home Page makes it easier to access the functionality you need in Oracle Integration. Whether you need a summary status of your integrations, or need to access your Insight models, or access your process tasks, the Home Page has you covered. Plus, you can search our repository of recipes and accelerators to find one that fits your integration needs and you will be that much closer to implementing your business solutions.
