Celebrating our Successes at Oracle OpenWorld 2009
By Lynne Sampson-Oracle on Oct 13, 2009
A year ago, Oracle Insurance launched at Oracle OpenWorld 2008. One year later, we're celebrating our successes.
Yesterday, senior leadership provided a yearly review and a look ahead during our General Session. Senior Vice President and General Manager Rick Connors opened with an overview of the insurance industry over the past year. Next, Vice President of Strategy and Alliances Chuck Johnston talked about the application of the "theory of constraints" to the insurance business, and how recognizing and eliminating constraints can clear a path for growth. Vice President of Product Strategy Srini Venkat spoke about how Oracle Insurance customers are using our applications to remove constraints in their businesses and achieve new success. Oracle partner Capgemini wrapped up the session with ideas on how insurers can tackle change management in their organizations.
Customer sessions over the past two days included Securian Financial Group, who presented a well-attended session on replacing policy administration systems, and Country Financial, who spoke about their Siebel Claims implementation.
Tomorrow, American Modern Insurance will present a session on their use of Oracle Documaker at 5 p.m. at the Westin Market Street, Franciscan I.
