Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer X8M Now Certified for SAP NetWeaver-based Applications

Brian Gruttadauria
Senior Director, Product Marketing

Oracle recently achieved official certification of Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer X8M for SAP NetWeaver-based applications as well as the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence suite. With this certification, SAP customers who desire the benefits of the cloud but cannot move their Oracle Databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure due to data privacy/sovereignty laws, industry regulations, corporate policies, security requirements, latency concerns, or a tightly coupled on-premises IT infrastructure, can now use Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer X8M.

With Exadata Cloud@Customer X8M, organizations that use SAP can enjoy the business benefits of the cloud in their data centers, behind their firewalls. These benefits include efficient resource utilization based on real-time workload requirements, pay-for-what-you-use subscription pricing, and infrastructure management by Oracle. Exadata Cloud@Customer enables high levels of database consolidation and delivers higher performance, scalability, availability and reliability for SAP applications compared to DIY infrastructures, while reducing database management and delivering a 256% return on investment.

Every business has a set of ISV and home grown applications that they depend on to run all aspects of their business, from finance to manufacturing, HR, orders, procurement, operations and more. All of these types of business-critical applications can run on Exadata Cloud@Customer. If these types of applications cannot run on an organization’s on-premises cloud environment, than the infrastructure that organizations are running on can’t be the one that enables a transformation to a modern cloud model. Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer enables the full transformation to a modern cloud model while supporting critical business applications such as SAP—AWS Outposts does not, leaving customers without an on-premises cloud solution for their critical business applications
