Optimized Sales Analytics with Integrated Business Intelligence Platform

Turkey’s leading electronics and technology retail company, TeknoSA Inc., has nearly 300 retail outlets and online stores. In 2014, more than 200 million customers visited TeknoSA’s sales channels.

The IT organization at TeknoSA manages and supports the company's application portfolio and develops new applications that enable rapid implementation of business strategies.

The company wanted to:

  • Eliminate bottlenecks caused by simultaneous online transactional processing and analytical workloads on a single enterprise resource planning system
  • Create a single source of high-quality, comprehensive sales information to deliver instant, reliable, and customizable reporting to executives and sales representatives across regions
  • Gain faster insight into daily sales trends required for decision making by consolidating reporting across the organization from diverse legacy systems

So what did TeknoSA do?

It created a foundation for advanced analysis of retail sales through a unified enterprise data warehouse and a single version of accurate sales data with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition running on Oracle Exadata Database Machine.

This platform delivered insights into sales performance and better management decision making. It gave decision makers access to ad hoc sales analytics, such as forecasted retail revenue per store versus historic averages, while also enabling users to create customized sales reports. And it helped the company move from an IT-centric to a self-service reporting approach, eliminating the need for IT staff to configure reports according to frequently changing business demands.

“With Oracle Business Intelligence running on Oracle Exadata, we’ve established a centralized reporting system with extreme performance at a low cost of ownership—empowering sales staff and executives with anytime, anywhere access and gaining new insights into structured and unstructured sales data,” said Serhat Göktepe, Information Systems Applications Manager at TeknoSA.
