REST (Representational State Transfer) – an architectural style for designing scalable distributed applications and web services. Nowadays it’s becoming industry standard and widely considered as the best architectural choice for integration between mobile applications and back-end systems. REST services with JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) payload provide lightweight and effective approach for integration purposes and allow minimizing overhead during data exchange.
