Partner Webcast - Oracle Service Bus 12c: Simplifying Service Virtualization and Integration

Oracle Service Bus (OSB) 12c is a lightweight, scalable and reliable Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). It is designed to connect, mediate and manage interaction between heterogeneous services, legacy systems, ERPs and other ESB instances across the enterprise. It is more than a mere messaging engine; it is the communications medium that connects all assets of the enterprise SOA and provides industry standard interfaces to the enterprise as a whole, not just to specific applications.

Partner Webcast – Oracle Managed File Transfer (MFT) with SOA 12c Integration

File processing has matured a lot in the recent years. Even though real-time processing is dominant in many integration patterns, fully integrated file transfer solutions are a core requirement in the new and hybrid world of cloud and on-premise enterprise. Cloud integrations are expected to increase the demand for file-based integrations even more. Built- in functionality for security, encryption, and global visibility have long been core Managed File Transfer requirements.

Organizations still make heavy use of files utilizing bulk, batch, and real-time updates for application integration. As cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) is introduced in the IT landscape, file integrations simply increase in both size and volume.

Oracle Managed File Transfer (MFT), a component that is tightly integrated with Oracle SOA Suite, enables secure file exchange and management with internal departments and external partners.

Creating Oracle Service Bus 12c Proxy Service to Decouple JCA Database Adapter Business Services

In an earlier blog I showed how to service enable a database on OSB 12c . The business service created as we saw is strongly coupled to the database. A change on the database (table name, data type or column name) would impact the interface created. This is something that we want to avoid when using the service in a larger context in Service –Oriented Architecture (SOA).

In this blog post, I will explain how to create a proxy service in OSB 12c that can act as an atomic service to decouple the database.

Database CRUD Web Services Enablement with Oracle Service Bus 12c

Before the release of Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c, we could only use  a JCA Database adapter with Oracle Service Bus 11g by working with Eclipse (OEPE) for OSB development of services and Jdeveloper in parallel as the  adapter wizards were only available in JDeveloper Oracle SOA Suite 11g project.

The development of services to decouple a database in Oracle Service Bus 12cis less work due to the now existing new Overview Editor in Jdeveloper 12c for developing Service Bus services compared to the Composite Editor for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, it lets you drag and drop components on to the editor to create services. The editor provides direct creation and editing of JCA adapters, REST bindings, and Service Bus services.
