Partner Webcast – Enhance Security with OCI Web Application Firewall (WAF)

Thanos Terentes Printzios
EMEA A&C Technology Adoption Manager

Web application & Data security is a growing concern for enterprises. A significant portion of all cyberattacks are directed at web applications, and that rate is increasing.

Factors such as the rise of cloud computing, use of open source technologies, the increase in data processing requirements, complexity of web applications, and an increase in the overall sophistication of attackers has led to an extremely challenging environment for IT security leadership.

When a breach occurs, it could often have been prevented. However, security budgets are not keeping up.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Web Application Firewall (WAF) is a cloud-based, PCI-compliant, global security service that protects applications from malicious and unwanted internet traffic. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure WAF can protect any internet-facing endpoint, providing consistent rule enforcement across a customer's applications.

Oracle WAF is the right choice for any business that wants to tighten security at the web application layer. Oracle WAF is 100 percent cloud native and vendor agnostic, which means it can protect your entire hybrid or multicloud environment regardless of where internet facing applications are hosted.

Key capabilities of the WAF:

  1. Protection Rules - WAF contains over 250 pre-defined protection rules. The rules match web traffic to rule conditions and determine the action to be taken when the conditions are met. Protection Rule Settings allow you to define the parameters for enforcement any time a protection rule is matched.
  2. Access Control - Administrators can add and configure their own access controls based on geolocation data, whitelisted and blacklisted IP addresses, and HTTP URL and header characteristics.
  3. Threat Intelligence - Oracle WAF takes feeds from a number of threat intelligence providers to ensure it has the latest, up-to-date information on suspicious IP addresses.
  4. Bot Management - Leverages an advanced set of challenges including JavaScript verification, CAPTCHA, device fingerprinting, and human interaction algorithms to identify and block malicious bot traffic.

Join us on this webcast and find out how Oracle Cloud Infrastructure enables enterprises to maximize the number of mission-critical workloads that they can migrate to the cloud while continuing to maintain their desired security posture. Leverage OCI Web Application Firewall (WAF) and take security a step further.
