There is also a hands on component to the Big Data labs, using the Big Data Lite VM  that is downloadable from the Oracle Technology Network.  The lab is certified for version 4.2.1.  Each GLP module has labs at the end.  We recommend you do the labs in the order of the Lab Guide, there are certain labs that build on each other.

To run the Big Data Lite VM, you must run it on a system with at least 5GB of memory.  This system can be a laptop, desktop or a server that you have access too.  You will also need 60GB of hard drive space to download the virtual machine.
