Excellent example of Oracle ADF - Google Maps/Earth integration
By Dmitry Nefedkin on May 24, 2012
I've already mentioned CS Urban View application by CSoft in one of the earlier posts, and I'm glad to see that guys are moving forward and adding new features very quickly (with a little help from my side :) .
First, the application has been localized to support the interface in English, not a very big deal, but it might be important for the prospective clients outside Russia. It was quite a painless process because of the built-in localization features of the Oracle ADF platform and the best practices available in this area.
Second, the ADF Security-based authentication has been added, so the access to the specific features can be restricted.
Third, they have extended the visualization capabilities and now you can easily switch the map mode from the standard (Oracle MapViewer based) to the Google Maps and even Google Earth with 3D-visualization enabled. That's very exciting feature, you can see it in action in the short video below or even try it by yourself at the Penza City GIS Service (Google Earth plugin is required for the 3D visualizations).
The other CS UrbanView feature demos are also available on their Youtube channel.
