Outrigger Hotels Leverage Oracle Property Management to Elevate the Guest Experience

Outrigger is a 68-year-old, third-generation, family-owned business that offers iconic beachfront resorts. In a recent Oracle interview, Outrigger’s Alan White, Senior Vice President and CIO, discusses partnering with Oracle Hospitality for the long term with the aim of driving growth and maximizing opportunities in key tourism destinations across the Pacific, Australia and Asia.

Previous to Oracle, White found cross-property collaboration difficult due to the variety of IT systems used across Outrigger resorts. “[We] now have the exact same Oracle System in all of [our] hotels all over the world. A manager from one hotel is perfectly comfortable covering for a manager from another hotel because it’s the exact same system.”

White also noted the enhancement to staff training with Oracle: “A great benefit of the Oracle platform is the reduction in training time. We went from days to hours in training time with Oracle.”

Aside from the improvements in staff efficiency gained through using identical systems and low-maintenance training, Oracle has enabled Outrigger to learn more about its guests. Using the Oracle MIRCOS OPERA Property Management System has enabled the business to gain “instant access to information.”

Said White: “We are finding that [our] information consolidates very, very quickly. Knowledge of who [our] guest is and when [they] arrive is extremely valuable.”
