Oracle Hospitality Releases Latest Oracle Hospitality Simphony Cloud Service

Innovative Functionality and Advanced Mobility Provides Enterprise Food and Beverage Operators with Comprehensive Cloud Point-of-Sale and Hospitality Management Solution

To help hospitality customers with food and beverage operations in restaurants, hotels, cruise lines, and sporting venues, Oracle Hospitality announced a new release of Oracle Hospitality Simphony Cloud Service. The upgraded Oracle Hospitality point-of-sale (POS) and hospitality management platform supports a wide range of mobile devices, offers an extended range of features to streamline table service operations, is faster and easier to deploy, and increases mobility for on-site managers on the move.

“Our flagship point-of-sale system is unique in that it is the first enterprise hospitality management solution spanning multiple continents that is designed specifically for the cloud,” said Jay Upchurch, vice president of product strategy for Oracle's hospitality group. “Since it was built for the cloud, Oracle Hospitality Simphony Cloud Service delivers ‘always-on’ technology capable of supporting the best possible guest experience while maximizing data security and value for IT investment.”

The Simphony platform is designed to suit a broad range of food and beverage business models, from table service and fast casual operations to stadium concessions.

Oracle Hospitality Simphony Cloud Service users gain several significant business benefits including:

  • An enhanced guest experience for table service restaurant operators, with a complete and comprehensive feature-set to improve order workflow and quality of service
  • Simplified on-boarding of new employees through a new labor management interface
  • Smoother guest engagement and increased employee productivity thanks to an updated back-office suite, providing a modernized user interface to staff
  • Further integration with the wider Oracle Hospitality technology suite, bringing Simphony to cruise ships as well as hotels, casinos, and sports and entertainment facilities

Oracle Hospitality Simphony Cloud Service works seamlessly with Oracle Hospitality’s hardware solution portfolio, which is designed specifically for the most demanding food and beverage environments. The hardware suite includes the latest Oracle MICROS Workstation 6 Series and the innovative Oracle MICROS Tablet E-Series, which provides operators with versatility and flexibility by transforming from a fixed workstation to a mobile POS.

“The companies that are building for the future are not developing on-premises technology, they’re developing for the cloud,” said Upchurch. “When Oracle acquired MICROS, a primary goal was to build on the foundations of an exceptionally strong cloud hospitality product and knowledge base. Our customers now have even greater capabilities for delivering exceptional guest experiences, and they will continue to have access to the latest functionality, thanks to upgrades made easier by the cloud.”

Oracle Hospitality Simphony Cloud Service, the leading hospitality management platform for food and beverage operators, provides a single solution for point-of-sale, business intelligence, gift and loyalty programs, loss prevention, inventory control, labor management, and kitchen automation.

As with all previous versions, the latest update has been built specifically for the cloud, which offers the best possible foundation for the majority of hospitality operators, providing them with speed, agility, resilience, security, and the consistency that is so vital to multi-unit food and beverage operations.
