Oracle’s Adriana Torres Named to 2021 HITEC 100 “Most Influential”

Sr. Director of Marketing, Oracle Hospitality

For serving as role models in a diversity-challenged industry and making leadership contributions to keep the world connected through technology, HITEC recognizes outstanding executives in the field.

And for the third consecutive year, the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council (HITEC) has honored Adriana Torres, senior vice president, global head of Oracle Hospitality and Food and Beverage Support, with her inclusion in its 2021 HITEC 100 list of most influential leaders.

For more than a decade, HITEC has highlighted the value that Hispanic leaders create in the technology industry. It’s part of the organization’s mission to celebrate and increase Hispanic representation, cultivating stronger technology and executive leaders.

“2020 has been a year of challenges and unimaginable global change,” said HITEC Chairman Guillermo Diaz Jr., CEO of Kloudspot. “During these times, our leaders have worked to change the conversation, using technology to innovate and working to create meaningful impact.

“It is because of these leaders and innovators that businesses and families around the world have been able to stay connected, functioning and forging a path forward,” he added. “It is an extremely proud moment for the Hispanic community and the tech industry to recognize and celebrate these leaders.”

At Oracle, Torres has championed the importance of diversity as a means for promoting greater understanding and enriching workforce talent – not just to benefit Oracle but better serve all its customers and partners. And she has raised awareness for the contributions that a diversity of “thought, mind, gender, culture, and race” can deliver.

“If you are able to recognize these differences and leverage them to learn and grow personally and professionally, then you are able to accomplish greater successes,” Torres said. “And such understanding can extend far beyond the workplace. At a time when there is growing tension in so many communities across our country, it’s critical to embrace diversity to bring people together.”

Nominations for the HITEC 100 are solicited from HITEC members, partners, and the general public. Honorees are evaluated on their accomplishments in the ever-changing global landscape of technology and for their mentoring and professional development activities.

Said Juan Carlos Gutierrez, HITEC board member and chair of the Awards Committee: “With each passing year, the HITEC 100 continues to strengthen in caliber and representation at the highest levels of the Hispanic talent in the technology industry. This year, HITEC received a record number of nominations, which shows the growth in visibility and impact that HITEC has in the community. We continue raising the bar.”
