White House announces $400 million for IoT & Wireless headed by the NSF

The White House recently announced a $400 million investment in IoT and wireless technologies that will be managed by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

 New 5G (fifth generation) network 
speeds could have significant
implications for marketing and

For example, the new speeds are
projected to be 100 times faster
than the fastest speeds on mobile
devices today.
This means consumers could
download full-length HD movies in
less than five seconds.
Advertising, with full video,
could essentially become
instantaneous.

Not sure it's a good thing. Advertisements in full HD video downloading to my smartphone is not my first choice for what $400 million could do. But, hey, they will download in less time than I could even think to click on the cancel button, though. That's something... :-)
