The Year of the ADF Developer
By Grant Ronald on Jul 28, 2011
A common question I hear is "where can I find skilled ADF people". Like any "new" (and its not really that new) technology, there is gradual uptake of the skills and advanced skills, of course, take longer to develop. However, one thing I noticed over the last two Oracle Worlds was a subtle change in ADF presentations. We're seeing less and less of "so what is ADF" and more and more "so in our application we do it like this". There is a definite change and futhermore, I'm seeing an ever widening pool of experts coming to the fore. The ADF Enterprise Methodology Group is one such expanding collection of ADF architects and visionaries and this year the ADF EMG has declared Oracle World 2011 to be "The Year of the ADF Developer".
The ADF EMG will be running a full day of sessions from leading lights in ADF community as a precursor to the main Oracle World content.
A bold statement? Yes it is but I think they are spot on. I definitely see we are beyond the critital mass point where ADF skills will become much more common place. The sheer number of sessions at user groups and OW, the fact the customers are already live on Fusion Applications and if you take a walk around the OW demo grounds, just look at how many UIs you see that are ADF Faces - its all over the place.
So will OW 2011 kick off the year of the ADF Developer? I think it just might!
