The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) has authorized Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to host Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) missions providing unprecedented performance, security, and value for the most demanding classified missions. DOD assessors granted the authority to operate (ATO) enabling secure processing of some of the US Air Force’s most sensitive data.

The U.S. Air Force uses of a broad array of OCI services, including OCI Container Engine for Kubernetes that can reduce the time and cost to build modern cloud native applications; and Oracle Database Cloud Service that includes using the spatial and graph functions within Oracle Exadata Cloud Service to accelerate data analysis. With low latency networking, high performance computing, and cost-effective storage, Oracle Cloud delivers a full range of data, platform and cloud-native services the national security community needs to unlock more value from data.

To support and accelerate delivery of national security systems at the Secret and Top Secret levels, the DOD will use Oracle National Security Regions (ONSRs).  ONSRs are dedicated OCI regions built to ICD 503 and ICD 705 standards. Completely isolated from the internet, these air-gapped regions enable mission owners to secure classified data, remove data silos, and innovate. Supporting our philosophy of technical and operational parity, ONSRs are built to deliver identical cloud services as Oracle Cloud commercial regions making it possible to advance secret and top secret missions at the pace of commercial innovation.
